Read Sifu’s Articles!
You can read the articles written by Sifu Peter Pena
in these past issues of Kung Fu Tai Chi Magazine.
Sifu Peter Pena established the Arizona Martial Arts Lion Dance Association
(AMALDA) for the preservation, study and education of classical and traditional
lion dancing, as well as the internal and external Chinese martial arts. His love and
devotion for the Chinese culture has inspired him to continue to expand his
knowledge by working with various notable teachers worldwide.
AMALDA stems from many years of Sifu Pena’s training and understanding of the
customs, beliefs, and chengs that his teachers entrusted to him. Sifu Pena’s goal
is to pass on this knowledge for future generations, wanting to keep and follow the
classical and traditional Fut San (Buddha Mountain) and Hok San (Crane
Mountain) styles of Lion Dancing.
Our troupe is family oriented and just like a family, everyone working together
makes the troupe whole. Unity is an integral part of our lion dance troupe. We are
of all makes, colors and creeds who all share the passion for this amazing art.
We at the Arizona Martial Arts Lion Dance Association pride ourselves on
performing an authentic, traditional and complete Lion Dance experience.
It is important to perform the classical Lion Dance so that present and future
generations are assured that these treasured styles are not lost.
